Aira acquires Saxony company Garant, creating over 100 new jobs within the next year

Strategic move to help customers reduce their carbon emissions by up to 100 percent

Today Aira announced its acquisition of Garant Wärmesysteme, marking Aira's expansion outside of the Berlin-Brandenburg region to Saxony and Bavaria in Germany.

This investment demonstrates Aira's commitment to market expansion by integrating local industry leaders to harness critical regional expertise and experience. This strategic move is aligned with Aira's ambition to serve five million households across Europe, whereof one million in Germany, with affordable clean energy-tech solutions over the next ten years.

The well-established, family-owned plumbing, heating, and cooling company Garant Wärmesysteme is an ideal partner for Aira, given its consistent focus on renewable energy solutions, digitised operations and an 80-person strong team of clean energy experts in Glauchau and Munich. Additionally, Garant has expertise in installing and planning solar systems, adding another dimension to the expanding Aira product portfolio.

Together with Garant, Aira will enable even more households to invest in the clean energy-tech of the future using Aira's unique, subscription focused business model. With Aira's all-inclusive monthly payment plan which removes upfront costs and 30 days from order to install, the partnership increases accessibility and affordability of intelligent heat pumps, helping customers reduce their carbon emissions by 75 percent. This number can increase to 100 percent when used in conjunction with fossil-free sources of electricity such as solar power.

Today, 70 percent of private households still heat their homes with oil or gas, which makes residential heating account for eleven percent of total CO2 emissions in Germany. Aira's investment will support the German federal Government's ambition to accelerate heat pump adoption with the recently passed legislation GEG, which aims to make German households climate neutral by 2045. Aira's commitment to install one million heat pumps in Germany within the next ten years, helps to reduce Germany's dependence on foreign gas, reduce CO2 emissions whilst also cutting consumer energy bills.

This is Aira's third acquisition since inception and a strong milestone in the continued journey to welcome likeminded and experienced teams to the important mission.

Aira is now strategically positioned to cater to both the northern and south-eastern regions of Germany

"Garant's regional expertise and extensive experience will accelerate Aira's ambitions to serve more German households. In Garant we have found an ideal partner. We are both convinced that the future lies in sustainable energy solutions, and that the industry needs to rethink its approach. Aira and Garant share the same vision and I am confident that we will flourish by learning from each other. To accelerate the rapid growth of the business, we will build a new Aira Academy that will train hundreds of clean energy experts. What better place to start than here in Glauchau-Zwickau, known as a hub for engineering talent. Aira is now strategically positioned to cater to both the northern and south-eastern regions of Germany,” says Carl-Erik Lagercrantz, board member of Aira.
