Polarium commits to set science-based emission reduction target

Advancing climate action by committing to science-based targets and following SBTi guidelines

Polarium is taking the next step in its climate action ambitions by committing to set near- and long-term company-wide emission reductions in line with science-based net-zero with the SBTi.

Safe, smart, and sustainable energy storage solutions will be key to empowering the transition to a truly sustainable energy future. Polarium is on a mission to unlock endless energy. As an impact business, Polarium is proud to respond to the SBTi’s urgent call for corporate climate action by committing to align with 1.5°C and net zero.

Climate change is one of the most crucial concerns of our time. By committing to setting science-based targets, Polarium will ensure that their targets will steer them towards solutions that are in line with climate science and capture impacts throughout their value chain, enabling Polarium to contribute to the renewable energy transition with minimal negative impact.

Climate action is one of our top priorities

“Polarium has an ambitious sustainability strategy – Breakthrough 2030 - which is shaped to drive progress and build trust. Climate Action is one of our top priorities. We have started our climate action journey and committing to set science-based targets confirms our high ambition level to all our stakeholders. Polarium’s climate ambition is supported at every level in the organisation, including the management team and the Board of Directors. We are now working intensively to finalise our complete greenhouse gas accounting and develop near- and long-term targets to submit to the SBTi,” says Carl-Erik Lagercrantz.
